Illegible Records - Chara Love

Ever since her father bought her a new keyboard for Christmas every year while she was growing up, Chara Love has dreamed of composing her own album and being a performing musician. Drawing on the experiences of her life both good and bad, Chara brings forth that album now on Illegible Records and prepares to perform with all her soul.

Honing her skills in the music program at Lansing Community College and before that, years on her own whenever she could, Chara has assembled what could best be described as a soliloquoy. Her past as a child as well as recent relationships are examined in often brutal honesty. "I think everything happens for a reason," she says, pointedly. This is showcased even more in the very production of the compositions, with songs often left bare with the songwriter and her guitar and little more.

Having found recent success at local open mic events, Chara finds herself with a growing reputation and now often in the position of answering such questions as 'where's your cd?' and the like. Even though she commits herself to music around a grueling schedule of work and school she'll be the first to tell someone that it can elude her at times - which only adds to her passion later on. She is, arguably, happiest during the quietest moments when it's just her and her guitar, a microphone in front of her and an audience or a digital multi-track humming in the background.

"For me to not pursue something in music would just be wrong. Does that make sense?" she asks. "I take it one day at a time."

Chara Love's album is set for a first quarter, 2006 release.
