Illegible Records - Eric Blades

Eric Blades, the head of Illegible Records, has his plate full.

Aside from running Lansing, Michigan's own small but mighty indie label, he fancies himself a musician in his own right. "I started this grand enterprise in the hopes of getting people's music heard," he says "...mine included." But depending on how you look at it, that is easier said than done. Involved with a fair amount of Illegible's projects (see ARTISTS) Eric is able to be more than heard but still feels the need to share his own music.

Continuing his long running and current 'Thought' theme, Eric plans on following up "Heavy Thought" released two years ago (as well as last year's quiet release of "Tender Thought" on sister label, Asunder Records) with his long awaited 'lost album' - "Backward Thought". Eric chuckles "It's ridiculous how long this album has been sitting and begging to be released." He speaks of the fact that this CD has been pushed back and postponed for more than he cares to reveal. "The silly part about all of this is that this is some of the most intriuging material I've produced - but I still haven't put it out!"

He descibes the work as a return to his more grandiose and heavily produced sound with, as per the usual, an experimental spin. "There's giant keyboards and guitars - but not how you would expect them." Stopping there, he offers his only clue by pointing to the title. "I'm excited to at last present it to the people who appreciate my sound" he continues "but then there's the problem of the rest of the music I've composed on my hard drive..."

Look for it (Finally..!) Summer 2008.
