It was the insistent nudging by Illegible Records president Eric Blades that got his artists in trouble once again.

While working on a special side effort somewhat recently, Medicine Crow and Dennis Preston found themselves with instruments in hand, microphones at the ready - and Eric Blades nearby, his eyes wide as well as his ears. "They were good. They were really good" says Blades "Those two have a natural, effortless chemistry. I had to get them into the studio for real." And he did. Planned and then delayed and then planned again , the duo finally met up at Harbor Studios with Blades' producing and no clue what to do from there. Capitilizing on Blades' idea of just recording live and calling on their built-in skills at collaborating with eachother, Preston and the Crow banged out an album's worth of material in one Sunday afternoon.

The result is classic. In pursuing a free-form spontaneous approach, the two songwriters achieved a warm and versatile acoustic instrumental CD that sounds not so much like a jam but more like a rehearsed and carefully constructed work. With no overdubs or re-recordings, the project was aided by another Illegible Records artist, Chara Love, who pounded a few beats on percussion. At days end, the music was enthralling, with sounds that takes the listener to influences that range from the Irish Coast to the sands of the desert.

"Even though I'm techncally the 'Producer'... " says Blades "I was really little more than engineer. Those two guys handled that session like pros. It was both a marvel and a pleasure."
