Perry McDonald found himself in a bit of a quandry last year.

Having resolved himself to a peaceful life without any serious meddling into music in years, he was quite comfortable looking back at his youth touring with a inspirational rock band with fond memories. Then, with little warning, in 2004 he suddenly found himself in front of a microphone, a satisfied smile on his face and a new song in his heart.

Thus began Perry's journey back to music and his eventual home on Illegible Records. Quickly arming himself with a smorgasbord of recording equipment, computer software and a brand new guitar to boot, he earnestly began work on his first solo album. With a decidedly acoustic and folk sound, he delivers deep and impacting lyrics that reflect family, love and loss while at the same time relish in a warm tone of comfort. Drawing on a close group of friends who offer backup on many songs, Perry also delivers a versatile sound that is well rounded and far exceeds the initial humble approach to the work.

While music is at the center of his newly rekindled passion of creativity, Perry McDonald is also exploring an interest in video work to coincide with his album's songs in a companion DVD format. His goal is to explore both mediums - DVD and CD - and use them to express his take on life,
