Illegible Records - Sharp Shore

Sharp Shore, one of the newest projects on Illegible Records and Asunder Records continues it's musical journey, forging new ground in the instrumental realm with it's new release of "Desolation", a follow up to this year's earlier "Reclamation" album. Began with acoustic experiments in the celtic ambient veins of music, Sharp Shore still holds the prize for mood production. the latter as a extension of a married couple's musical proclamation of harmony. The equasion is still as simple: 12 string acoustic guitar, percussion and this time subtly simulated cello and flute - all have the makings of a compelling instrumental offering.

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this group," says label head, Eric Blades "but since I'm a member of it, I would also admit my opinion may be a bit biased." It's obvious that he's proud of the work that has been accomplished which features him on the aforementioned 12 string guitar and percussion meanwhile adding the staple sounds of cello and flute with his keyboard.

Begun as a experiment at Michigan's Farm Fest in 2006, the project has expanded from that and gone on to putting together a few short compositions for that year's Illegible Records benefit show. The response was overwhelming and it was a quick and easy decision to assemble an album for release on the label as well as follow-ups. It wasn't always easy, however, as Sharp Shore has gone through a bit of a roster change leaving Eric Blades as the sole member.

Descriptions of the project have ranged from new age to celtic to ambient to tribal. Whatever the genre, Sharp Shore has been known to take audiences to different places with it's peaceful and powerful mix of instrumental music. So take a stroll where the water meets the sand and enjoy Sharp Shore...
